Using Acids with Microdermabrasion

Peel into a New Skin

Using Acids with Microdermabrasion can be controversial.I have found from my own experience working with acne, sun damaged and oily skin to be very effective treatment. Microdermabrasion removes the outermost layer of dead skins cells on the face, chest, and neck or anywhere on the body. The skin’s surface is disrupted; cell division occurs which stimulates fibroblast activity leading to collagen which leads to thicker, firmer skin .The newly polished skin is more accepting of acids for further exfoliation, vitamins and minerals for nutrition, lighteners to tone away hyperpigmentation, and hydrators to moisturize. In 2010, microdermabrasion was one of the top 5 non-surgical procedures for men and women according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Microdermabrasion treatments are recommended every 2 weeks in a series of 6 for correction and every 4–8 weeks for maintenance or prevention.
